TYPE: Ecuador. Carchi: western declivity of the Andes, alt. 1500-2000 m, Oct. 1975, collected by Andreetta & Hirtz 1, cult. at Cuenca, flowered in cult. 12 Jul 1977, C. Luer 1687 (holotype, SEL; detail of holotype).
